Caricatures in Leeds Castle

What’s not to like about Leeds Castle for a wedding venue, when the general public are shut out and silence is only broken by nature it’s just spectacular and such a wonderful setting for a wedding. I was working in the Maidens Tower ironically in the drawing room and have to confess to loving this venue! I’ve stayed there but not in the actual Castle, they have what are cutely named stables which are smallish rooms overlooking the lake. My wife and I went on a hawk walk, fantastic walk through the grounds with a bird of prey following on the wing hunting.

As a wedding venue it’s truly stunning!

Caricatures at Goodwood Revival 2015

What a great venue to work at! It was my first time at Goodwood Revival and I made sure I went dressed as I imagined a 1946 caricaturist would look – to be honest not much different from how I normally dress albeit I did add a bow tie

I worked on the Icon Neon stand, drawing people whilst they waited to talk to the owner about his fantastic neon signs. It’s a great form of entertainment and goes down well on a stand. My down time allowed me to wander round the show and take in all the sights and sounds from a golden classic period. The cars are just superb and the fact that everyone dresses up you get a feel for how it may have felt back then.

Caricatures at BMW Reading

Fantastic event at the very posh new BMW centre in Drake Way Reading. The open evening saw me drawing caricatures, some excellent live music and some very talented magicians walking the floors.

I was one floor up and had the joy of drawing people with the I8 in the background, I did have to take a look before I left and it truly is fantastic!

I had lots of customers to draw, it’s always nice to put a smile on peoples faces!

No, if I was lucky enough to have one I wouldn’t either!

This fantastic ice carving was pride of place at an event I attended recently. Being a caricaturist it’s always really nice to see other works of art and appreciate the work which goes into creating them.

In addition to my doodles there was a really talented dancer who gave everybody a very entertaining sample of dance from India which went down very well indeed.

At a corporate event recently near Heathrow I turned up to be greeted by these two! Fantastic fun, except for some reason everyone got it into their heads that I was a David Bowie look-a-like, perhaps it was the smart suit. It was only when I started drawing caricatures that anyone believed me!

With the wedding season very much in full swing and the weather glorious it’s no surprise that I have been caricaturing for some great people on their special day. It’s really nice during the summer as a lot of the time I get to work outside, a few chairs and small table and it’s amazing how much of a buzz can be created.

If you are looking for something different at your wedding, consider me caricaturing for you, it’s great fun across the generation spans and enjoyed by everybody even down to babies (although they haven’t said….it’s just they blow bubbles and laugh a lot). Grosvenor G Casino and Facebloke a winning combination

Some images of the great people I met whilst caricaturing at the new Grosvenor G Casino in Reading. It’s not just for gambling though, you can dine, drink and see a show! I tasted some of the food and will go back albeit without my pens – I couldn’t get away last night, ended up caricaturing what felt like half the staff! Great people though and a really good atmosphere.

Taplow House Hotel Sketch

I was asked to draw a pencil sketch of Taplow House Hotel, it had to be done quick as it was a gift for a senior staff member who was moving on. As long as I am drawing whether it is funny faces or more serious things I consider myself very fortunate – so this was a late night!

I did go to the presentation and I took along my paper and pens, drawing caricatures of the staff whilst I was there. It was great fun and Taplow House Hotel is such a wonderful location, I can’t wait to be drawing caricatures there again so if you plan a wedding there – count me in!
